Problem
My client was a large US Insurance company going through a partial sale / IPO to a PE firm and needed overall support and expertise on M&A related activities especially around the complex IT environment.
Action
My focus was advising the IT leadership on all matters re: the M&A process and put structures in place to help the team navigate both Day 1 and post Day 1 activities. I worked with a team of junior resources with IT but not much M&A experience to guide them through the intricacies of M&A work, conduct a current state assessment of the IT landscape, build a blueprint for separation, run a cross-functional alignment workshop, and then create a detailed work plan for all M&A related activities.: My focus was advising the IT leadership on all matters re: the M&A process and put structures in place to help the team navigate both Day 1 and post Day 1 activities. Result
The client was able to understand a very complex IT environment with all the connections and interdependencies, build in transition services agreements for all area that would remain connected post Day 1 and start executing on a plan for complete separation.
